Last year, Minneapolis indie duo Now, Now emerged with their first new song since 2012, the pop primed and triumphant “SGL,” swiftly bringing to an end several years of writer’s block, focus on other artistic mediums, and a prolonged creative process. 15 years into their run, the group (which, for a time, also included Jess Abbott, who departed ahead of this release cycle to focus full-time on her band Tancred), formerly known as Now, Now Every Children, found a burst of early buzz with their 2008 debut Cars, but it was 2012’s Threads, a certifiable masterpiece released on Chris Walla’s Trans Records, that made them both darlings of the indie scene and a formidable breakout act.

When they passed through Nashville last fall, their first stop in Music City in four years, we only knew that new music was forthcoming, but not any concrete details. Since then, the dup have delivered two more unbelievable tracks, “Yours” and the most recent “AZ,” both of us which are strong indicators that the group’s next effort might be a contender for album of the year, and help launch them onto a new plane of broader recognition. That album, as we know now, will be called Saved, and is set to finally arrive on May 18, once again through Trans Records.

Earlier this month, Now, Now both debuted a stylish, neon-soaked and moody music video for endlessly re-listenable “AZ,” and also announced a summertime run of North American dates in support of Saved. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait so long this time for them to return to Nashville, as a planned July 18 stop at Exit/In will give you exactly a month to get familiar with the new LP.

Tickets are available here, and once the record drops, there’s a good chance they’ll go fast. Secure your spot now then watch “AZ” below!
