Though for the better part of the last decade, ever since their split, rumors have swirled of an Oasis reunion, the brothers that make up the core of the group, Liam and Noel Gallagher, have maintained a relationship rocky enough, so far, to prevent that from happening. While in all likelihood it will one day come to pass, if you’ve been stubbornly sleeping on the Gallagher brothers’ post-Oasis endeavors, you’re sorely missing out on some phenomenal projects in their own right, particularly Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Now seven years and three albums into his solo run, Noel, his former band’s core writer, has proven to be a more than capable frontman, building on the foundation Oasis laid to explore new sonic territories and continue his top-notch writing style. Gallagher returns to Nashville for the third time and first since last year’s Who Built the Moon?, for a performance tonight, Feb. 27 once again at The Ryman Auditorium. Tickets are still available right here, so grab yours now and read on for more about the show!

Following the very public split of beloved Britpop outfit Oasis in 2009, guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher promptly reinvented himself as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, a project which, for the most part, continues to push forward the mix of alternative, psychedelic, and baroque pop that his former band were known for. After a buzzed about eponymous debut in 2011, Gallagher became a fixture in the tour and festival circuit and garnered critical acclaim, taking several years to craft an excellent sophomore followup, Chasing Yesterday, which arrived in 2015. Gallagher’s activity and confidence as a frontman has only seemed to intensify since, and his third full-length, last year’s Who Built the Moon? is arguably his best yet, exploring more glam, psychedelic, and pop stylings in a way that feels properly distinct from Oasis and wholly representative of Noel’s most creative impulses, while still maintaining a strong affinity to the best of retro English rock. Backed by a band that includes former Oasis guitarist Gem Archer and drummer Chris Sharrock, and former Oasis session pianist Mike Rowe, Noel’s solo outfit is certainly the more even-keeled, dependable route if you’re looking to both satisfy your Oasis craving and explore its spiritual successor (his brother Liam, currently embarking on a solo career of his own, remains notoriously volatile), and with their third Ryman outing, new music in tow, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds promise to once again be an exciting and well-honed live experience.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will perform tonight, Feb. 27 at The Ryman Auditorium. The show is all ages, begins at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.), and tickets are available to purchase for $52-77.50.
