Beloved and supremely talented indie/art rocker St. Vincent is prepping to release her fifth album, MASSEDUCTION, a followup to her 2014 eponymous masterpiece, this Friday, Oct. 13. A culmination of years of work, the LP features contributions from co-producer Jack Antonoff along with Sounwave, Kamasi Washington, Jenny Lewis, Dovemanon, Greg Leisz, Rich Hinman, Tuck & Patti, and even Cara Delevingne, spanning genres and influences and sonic landscapes, anchored by St. Vincent’s unique, pop-accessible, technical, sweeping, and unconventional sound.

Leading up to MASSEDUCTION‘s release, the multi-instrumentalist, whose birth name is Annie Clark, has previously released a pair of singles, “New York” and “Los Angeles,” with thematic and musical influences as opposite as their city namesakes. Days away from the LP’s release, St. Vincent has given us one last preview, with new single “Pills.” Featuring Kamasi Washington on saxophone, Jenny Lewis on vocals, and beat production from Sounwave, the song is a thumping, artsy, manic, percussive commentary on modern society’s over-dependence on, you guessed it, pills.

In celebration of the forthcoming LP, which sounds like it’ll be an album of the year contender without a doubt, St. Vincent is set to play The Ryman Auditorium on Nov. 22. Tickets have been on sale for a bit, but you can still grab some pretty great seats right here!
