SlossFest2016-620

Looking for last minute weekend plans?  Nearby Birmingham, Alabama’s Sloss Fest kicks off on Saturday July 15 for a two day event featuring a balanced, yet eclectic, slate of performers in historic Sloss Furnaces. The fest, now in it’s third year, overlaps with the similarly-geared Forecastle Fest in Louisville, with which it shares some performers.  So, if you aren’t able to make it to Louisville, Sloss offers another option for your consideration.

This year’s lineup features headliners Alabama Shakes, Widespread Panic, Odesza, and Sturgill Simpson, along with Run the Jewels, Spoon, Phantogram, Tycho,  Conor Oberst, Vince Staples, Charles Bradley, K.Flay, Waka Flocka Flame, Beach Slang, and more! In addition to the Shakes and Simpson, plenty of Nashville talent made the cut, per usual, including Judah & The Lion, Cherub, Mike Floss, Sun Seeker, John Moreland, Ruston Kelly, and Lillie Mae.

VIP and, uniquely branded, “Boss” Passes are sold out for the weekend, but an interim “Iron” level is still available and offers air conditioned tents to beat the heat, starting at $135 for single day or $225 for both days.  General admission two day tickets are still available starting at $135 for both days or $95 for a single day pass.  While boasting a stellar lineup, Sloss is one of the more wallet-friendly options in the summer festival scene, and, at 2.5 hours away, is a quick jaunt south for Nashvillians.
