Avett Brothers return this spring to Bridgestone | Presale starts Tuesday 1.15.13

Well, it was about time the Avetts did a formal stop in Nashville after passing us up this fall for the first time in several years (save for a sorta’ secret Crossroads taping with Randy Travis that made our best shows of the year list for sheer surreality). They’ll be back in the big old building on Broadway May 18th.

It’s no secret that I’m sweet on the brothers Scott and Seth and a big fan of others they keep in company, and you know I’m excited about this one… even if the arena is my least favorite venue to see them do their thing. Last time they stopped in at Bridgestone they brought Social Distortion with them (I know, right?) and this time it looks like it’s probably going to be hometown heroes, Old Crow Medicine Show, doing the honors (though I can’t yet confirm, so shout out if you know better than I do!)

I get what you’re thinking… oh the Avetts, I’m so OVER them now that everyone knows they’re awesome. We’ll, don’t be. Knock that shit off and have a heart. They play live with a ferocious punk spirit that fills even the most ridiculously over-sized of venues and can turn a phrase so tender they make bearded men weep. So grab some tickets and the Ultimate Grooming Kit, surprise that girl you like, and catch up with them at the arena. I’ve seen ’em half a dozen times and I can’t wait to do it again.
