It’s hard to believe that, with the exception of an appearance on Prairie Home Companion, Jack White, who just recently notched his Grammy nom total up to 35, hasn’t played a show in going on 18 months.  After his lauded 2015 Coachella headlining sets, White announced that he would be taking a hiatus from touring.  However, prior to the hiatus (and in very Jack White fashion), he needed to check a box off the bucket list first.  He played acoustic pop up shows in each of the five states where he had never performed before.  Each show was announced the morning of, and tickets costs only $3 for the lucky fans in Alaska, Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

The cameras were running when White and bandmates Fats Kaplin, Lilly Mae Rische, and Dominic Davis took the stage at the Pink Garter Theater in Jackson, WY on Apr. 23, 2015, and the footage from that night has just surfaced with their track “The Rose With The Broken Neck.”  White explains that the music was composed by Danger Mouse, and was inspired by Ennio Morricone, whom White later released the vinyl for his Hateful Eight soundtrack.  It’s probably best to let the master story-teller White finish the tale in the magical, jealousy inspiring video below.
