Local indie singer songwriter Rebecca Roubion is gearing up for the release of her debut LP, Sleepless Nights, on May 6, and we are thrilled to be offering up a video premiere for the title track to that album. The record was produced by Lincoln Parish of Cage The Elephant, which may have something to do with the slightly more rock n’ roll feel to the single than we’ve heard in the past from Roubion. That being said, it certainly still channels the power of Roubion’s lead vocals in this track which is just laden with undeniable pop hooks.
The song itself speaks of needing to get out and free yourself, which may be just what Roubion was trying to do when writing this track. Her intentions aside, it’s definite ear candy that you can take with you anywhere this spring and summer. You should also make note to check out the record on May 6, which features contributions from the Wallflowers’ Rami Jaffee, Band Of Horses’ Bill Reynolds, and Cage The Elephant’s Jared Champion.
Head below to watch the ever playful video for “Sleepless Nights,” and then put that upcoming LP on your to do list. You can also catch Roubion performing at The Family Wash for her official release show on May 11.
