Just like every Tuesday, The Basement (the original one on 8th Ave) is hosting its New Faces Night TONIGHT, Jan. 19, featuring a talented lineup of local and national talent, spanning a variety of genres, all on one big bill. For the price of FREE, you can never go wrong with this weekly event, and even if some of the names are less familiar (they are new faces after all), you can always trust the tastemakers at The Basement and Grimey’s to handpick some wonderful, diverse up and coming acts. Tonight’s showcase, which begins at 8 p.m., features The DuPont Brothers, Jodi James, Sugar Lime Blue, Rachal & The Redbones, The Hues, LC Jones, and NAWAS, and it’s the last artist on the list that has our interest especially piqued this week.
If the name NAWAS sounds familiar, then you might remember us telling you a bit about the talented up and comer last year, when the New Orleans transplant opened for Waka Flacka Flame then performed at the inaugural Pilgrimage Fest. We told you all about NAWAS’ soulful, electro-laced, pop-accessible sound in this full artist preview, and expect to hear a lot of new music in the near future. Want to jump on the bandwagon early? Catch NAWAS with the rest of tonight’s great lineup for free!
