In recent months, we’ve brought you a handful of tracks from indie pop songstress Vanessa Carlton, who just released her fifth full-length, Liberman, on Oct. 23 via Dine Alone Records, after teasing some fresh material over the summer with an EP, Blue Pool. Newly a resident of Nashville (and wife to Deer Tick’s John McCauley), Carlton filmed her latest music video, for haunting, hypnotic single “Operator,” right here in Music City, directed by Daniel Henry. “Operator” is a great representation of Liberman as a whole, which marks a darker tone, more spare and orchestral sound, and more conceptual and emotionally dense approach to lyricism and themes for Carlton.
