So, you don’t know about East Nashville Underground yet? Well, in the words of Kevin Hart, “You’re gonna learn today!” E.N.U. is the loudest underground gathering of bands, fans, bloggers, nerds, hipsters, freaks, nice guys and mean girls this side of The Cumberland. And while it’s “Underground” for now, that’s only going to last a little while longer. Especially with sponsors like Lightning 100 stepping up to the plate, word will travel fast. We’re going to break this into three parts, so you don’t get overwhelmed with content, and focus on each of the three main events for the weekend. This post will cover all of your Friday night action, and we’ll be posting write ups about the other sessions in the next couple of days. If you just can’t wait that long, you can check out the full line up here, and you can grab your tickets here.

E.N.U. started with a humble and honest beginning in newlyweds Jared and Kristen Corder’s basement. They wanted a place where truly great local bands could get on a bill together in a less stuffy, less expensive “cough DRINKS cough” place than an actual venue.
Heres the Summer 2012 Recap of E.N.U.

The current space hosting E.N.U. is located at 2412 Gallatin Road, which is owned by Ben Jones of Pizza Buds and The Grass Knoll Movie Nights in 5 Points. He is an all around gentleman who is doing great things to enhance the East Nashville Community. Jared and Kristen plan to keep E.N.U. at this location until they outgrow the space. Then their aims will be set on an outdoor scenario along the lines of Starry Nights.
Between the amazing lineup, the sponsors, the forthcoming documentary “East Side of the River” featuring E.N.U., and the overall buzz of things it does appear that E.N.U. is poised to have it’s biggest and perhaps last truly underground hoorah! Should we hope for it or against it?
