Vintage pop singer Whoa Dakota is celebrating the release of her new EP I’m a Liar at The Basement tonight, Aug. 6! If you caught her video for the lead single “Banshee,” you’ve already gotten to hear the more electronic, poppy direction the bluesy singer has taken with her new music. If you caught her at our Acme showcase or saw one of our previous video premieres, this new stuff is a bit of a departure from her soul-based past, and I’m a Liar will showcase more of that artistic development in frontwoman/singer/songwriter Jessica Otts. Melodic indie rock band Rising Sea and Quinn will open at the EP release show. Click through to see the video for “Banshee,” which was shot at Handmade Studios here in town.
