Female-fronted, Savannah-based hard rockers CUSSES are playing The End tonight with Black Market Research and Arc and Stones. CUSSES have just come out with a new album, which gives frontwoman Angel Bond some new material to show off her pipes and charisma. They’re one of those bands that clearly love Eighties hair metal, but are self-aware enough to make fun of the genre as well, meanwhile running it through more modern pop-punk influences. Two local radio-friendly post-grunge alternative acts Black Market Research and Arc and Stones will open, making for a great night of rock-and-roll partying as some are inclined to do without having to pay for Bonnaroo tickets. Read on to find out more about the bands.
CUSSES
Savannah’s pop-punk, polished-alternative rock band CUSSES just released their first new music in several years with the EP Here Comes the Rat this month, which is a preview for the upcoming full-length Golden Rat. Their hard rock with radio-friendly melodies have earned them airplay on MTVU for a single from their debut LP made back in 2012. They’ve powered through the three-year interim between records with some heavy touring, promoting themselves through a high-energy live show fronted by singer Angel Bond. Check out the newest single from Here Comes the Rat, “Sally and Her Tassels”, below.
Black Market Research
Black Market Research are a local act fronted by Nick Britt that combine radio friendly alternative with poppy twang. They’ve toured with acts as far-flung as Kelly Clarkson or Florida Georgia Line to the Gin Blossoms. The group is currently working with Grammy-winning producer Chad Brown on their third album, Nobody Fits.
Arc and Stones
Local-via-NYC alternative duo Arc and Stones have toured with Kansas and released three albums in their three short years as a band. Their brand of slick post-grunge alternative fits in well with the other acts on the bill. That third album hasn’t been released in its entirety yet, but you can check out the first video for the track “Wait For You” below.
CUSSES, Black Market Research, and Arc and Stones will perform Thursday, June 11 at The End. The show is 18+, begins at at 9 p.m., and tickets are available for $5.
