Continuing to tour the world in support of last year’s World Peace Is None of Your Business, legendary English singer Morrissey, who just played The Ryman in May 2014 (his first Music City show in a decade), has announced another round of North American dates, which will return him to Nashville on July 2 for a performance at the considerably larger Grand Ole Opry House. He last headlined the Opry in 1992.
Though the Pope of Mope has gained an infamous reputation for tour cancellations and mishaps in recent years, we should point out that his track record over the past 12 months has been much improved, by Moz standards anyway, and we have every reason to expect this show to go off without a hitch. Tickets are set to go on sale Friday, April 10 at 10 a.m. CDT, with pre-sales beginning on day prior (use the LiveNation mobile or website with the password ‘Performer’). Support is expected to be announced at a later date, though, notably, Blondie and Amanda Palmer have been confirmed for New York and San Jose, respectively.
