Michigan-bred Jilian Linklater has been honing her songwriting chops in Nashville for the past five years. While attending Belmont, she quickly made a name for herself as a freshman when she won the ASCAP writers series, and was selected to play in their Best Of The Best Showcase. The passion for songwriting led to the recording of her first EP in her dorm room, and became the drive that would challenge her to write her newest EP Walking Stories that drops on March 31.
We had a listen to Walking Stories, and asked if we could premiere the single “Better Than I Know Myself.” With a beat that evokes thoughts of springtime finger-snapping strolls in the sun, and the lyrics of young love pouring through you, it seems a perfect ode to the impending change of season.
Have a listen to the single below, and mark your calendar for the April 2 EP release show at The Well Coffeehouse on Granny White.
