Legendary comedian Dave Chappelle announced last week that he would return to The Ryman on April 6, where he last performed in 2013 amidst something of a comeback tour. Clearly having learned from the performer’s sold out three-show stint last go-round, The Ryman promptly announced a same-day late performance (7 p.m. and 10 p.m.) shortly after tickets went on sale last Friday. Now that the early show is sold out and the late one isn’t far behind, a SECOND night (third set) has been added, on April 7. The start time is billed as 7 p.m., so, while that gives us hope that yet another late show could also follow if demand is there, we wouldn’t necessarily count on it. Consider this your second (er, third) chance, and grab tickets the second they go on sale this Monday, March 16, at 10 a.m. CST.
Comedy fans have a lot to look forward too next month: the Wild West Comedy Fest is returning for its second year, April 14-19 at various venues across town, and Jerry Seinfeld is headed to TPAC on April 1.
