Ding, ding, ding…. a toast, please. Would you believe that The Basement was one of the main catalysts of starting this blog? Upon my first visit to Nashville before deciding to officially relocate here, I obtained an obnoxious outfit (inspired by the many foolishly dressed folks from Steeplechase that were wandering the city) and struggled momentarily before I found Bobby Bare Jr playing in a room that I immediately fell in love with. The Basement furthered its legacy in the inception of No Country when we over-anxiously obtained tickets for a sure-to-be-sold-out-in-ten-minutes Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr show, the minute they went on sale, which, of course, never came close to selling out. Since then, we’ve met Grimey, cheers’d over beers, held our second anniversary party there, and amazingly (thanks Grimey) got to see Jim James start off his solo tour there on a cold night almost two years ago. It’s hard to think that we would even be here without The Basement and the amazing folks that keep it running, so we wish them a very happy 10th birthday… and can’t wait to celebrate ten more on 8th Avenue AND their new location on the east side (opening in March)!
So, join us in raising our glasses to toast The Basement by joining us at their free party on Saturday night. This is going to be an intimate affair with some blog favorites like Alanna Royale, Wild Feathers, Grimey, Jerry and Friends, John Strohm, That’s My Kid, Tommygun, Back Pockets, and Sky Temple Blue. Things get started around 8pm, and, just like your birthday party, this sucker is FREE!
Head below to get in the groove with some of our favorite jams from some of those participating, but be sure that Grimey is going to be pulling out a star studded event that we can’t describe in embeds below… so, head out on Saturday for what is sure to be a par-tay!
