It seems like every year, summer festival announcements start arriving earlier and earlier (next week’s month early Bonnaroo Lineup Announcement Megathon is certainly proof of that), and the 2015 round has already started off strong with big reveals from two heavy hitters: Coachella and Governor’s Ball. The former, which takes place April 10-12 and 17-19 (with identical lineups) in Indio, Calif., sold out almost immediately, while the latter, which takes place June 5-7 in New York City, will go on sale tomorrow, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m. CST here.

Typically, summer festivals are stuffed with local talent, but, this time around, the Nashville representation is a little light. Coachella boasts only Jack White (as a headliner) and Sturgill Simpson, as well as local-ish rockers Alabama Shakes, while Gov Ball features The Black Keys, Sturgill again, and Moon Taxi. Both respective lineups are fantastic, however, and, perhaps, give us a better picture of who we might expect to see at Bonnaroo.

Several Bonnaroo bands we discussed in our 2015 Lineup Rumors post, including AC/DC, Ryan Adams, Lana Del Rey, and Alabama Shakes are clearly booking festival dates, and now stand a stronger chance of also appearing at ‘Roo. Additionally, some of last year’s talent who are continuing to make rounds, especially Jack White, are pretty unlikely to return. What these two fests really shed light on, however, is what small to mid-sized acts we’re likely to see at festivals all summer long, and what overseas acts seem willing to make the trek stateside, so stay glued to our rumors post all weekend long as we cross-reference schedules and update!

After the jump, take a look at the full 2015 lineups for Coachella and Governor’s Ball!
