The first week of December proved that even over the holidays, Nashville’s not slowing down on quality show offerings, announcements, or releases. As we continue forth into the merriest of seasons, we’re looking back at a great year, and looking forward to some incredible show offerings, festivals, and more in 2015. We know it’s not hard to get distracted around the holidays, so we don’t blame you if you missed any of our coverage, news, reviews, premieres, and more, including the announcement of our 3rd Annual Christmas Caroling Party, last week! We’ve made it easy, and recapped it all for you below:

  • NO COUNTRY PRESENTS: The Aquaducks and The Alarms | Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Acme Feed & Seed
  • NO COUNTRY PRESENTS: 3rd Annual Free Christmas Caroling Party | Dec. 19 at The Stone Fox
  • NEWS: The 2015 Grammy nominations were announced, and, per usual, plenty of local acts received nods!
  • NEWS: Mercy Lounge announced an epic 15+ band, two stage “4D” New Year’s Eve party!
  • NEWS: Art punks Deerhoof announced a long-overdue return to Mercy Lounge.
  • NEWS: The Vans Warped Tour announced a July 1 return to Nashville and its first five bands!
  • NEWS: Infinity Cat auctioned off rarities to raise money for Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp.
  • NEWS: Tedeschi Trucks Band announced two nights at The Ryman in February! 
  • NEWS: Forecastle Fest 2015 presale tickets went onsale!
  • NEWS: The legendary Willie Nelson announced two back to back shows at The Ryman!
  • NEWS: Dr. Dog announced a return to The Ryman in March with mewithoutYou.
  • NEWS: Gary Clark Jr. was added as support to the Foo Fighters’ upcoming show at Bridgestone Arena.

  • SHOW: Bluesman Patrick Sweany performed an early night at The 5 Spot.
  • SHOW: Glass Animals made their Nashville debut at Exit/In with *repeat repeat.
  • SHOW: Whoa Dakota performed at The 5 Spot with Myles Coyne and the Rusty Nickel Band and Stephen Simmons.
  • SHOW: GWAR brought their metal antics to Exit/In with Corrosion of Conformity and American Sharks.
  • RELEASE: Locals JAWWS released a new 7″ and threw a house party to celebrate!
  • RELEASE: Jack White spoke to CBS about the new release of The Rise and Fall of Paramount Records, Vol. 2.
  • RELEASE: Sherbert premiered a new single called “Worst Friend.”
  • RELEASE: Lauren Strange dropped a new single, “Runner,” ahead of her Say Yes EP and release show.
  • VIDEO: Free Throw debuted two live session videos and a new Christmas single!
  • VIDEO: Scale Model released a nostalgic new video for “El Cheapo.”
  • VIDEO: Local indie pop singer Mikky Ekko announced his debut LP, and released a video for its title track, “Time.”
  • VIDEO: The Decemberists premiered a new lyric video and music video, and performed on Conan.
  • VIDEO: Ex-Paramore guitarist Josh Farro unveiled his new band, Farro,  and premiered his first music video.
  • VIDEO: Indie rockers Into It. Over It. debuted a new music video for “Spinning Thread” ahead of a show at The High Watt.
  • VIDEO: Locals ELEL premiered a new live video and announced a record deal with Mom + Pop Music.
  • VIDEO: We premiered Yumi and the System‘s new music video for “Back of the World.”
  • CONTEST: Ticket Giveaway: St. Paul and the Broken Bones | Dec. 31 at Marathon Music Works
