Sebadoh, Mercy Lounge, Tonight In Nashville

The founders of indie rock tour continues tonight in Nashville, and here is why you should be there.  Sebadoh was there at the beginning in the pre-historic indie rock times of Dinosaur, Jr., Pavement, and Guided By Voices.  Formed back in 1986 by Dinosaur Jr. bassist Lou Barlow and Eric Gaffney, they were a staple of the college rock diet through the mid 90’s.  Gaffney left the band in the early 90’s (with the exception of a brief reunion tour in 2007/2008), but the classic Sebadoh sound remains.  Sebadoh is undoubtedly one of the most influential lo-fi rock bands out there, and they have inspired and guided an unbelievable amount of the music that we hear today.

Sebadoh is touring today in support of the digital only Secret EP that was released in July 2012.  Physical copies are supposedly only available at their shows.  You can snag up one of those tonight at Mercy Lounge.  Tickets are only $15, and things get started at 9pm.  If you want to get ready for the show tonight, you can check out Secret EP below.

Like I hinted to above, this is an almost complete tour of old school indie rock in Nashville this summer and fall.  Guided By Voices killed it at Marathon Music Works back on July 26th, and Dinosaur Jr. will be roaring into Mercy Lounge on October 1st.  This is your tweener, so make it count.  Get out and see some live music.
