Interpol-620

First announced back in July, New York post-punk revivalists Interpol are set to return to Nashville tonight, Nov. 11 for the first time in nearly four years for a performance at Marathon Music Works, hot on the heels of the release of their comeback album, El Pintor. Supporting the acclaimed group will be indie group Hundred Waters. It’s not too late to buy tickets, and you’d be crazy to miss the return of one of best bands of the last decade!

INTERPOL

Formed in the late ’90s in New York City, Interpol burst onto the rich indie landscape of the early ’00s with the release of their first two albums, Turn on the Bright Lights and Antics, cementing their status among peers like The Strokes as one of America’s premiere new era post-punk acts. Several years and two more releases would follow, before the band entered a hiatus in 2011, following the departure of longtime bassist Carlos Dengler. Reunited as a trio, Interpol have returned reenergized with El Pintor, arguably their best release in years. Sometimes it takes a bit of absence to remember how much you loved a band in the first place, and we’re beyond thrilled to have Interpol back. If you feel the same way, be sure to head to Marathon to show them your support, and check out the music video for new single “All the Rage Back Home,” below.

HUNDRED WATERS

Hailing from Gainesville, FL, relative newcomers Hundred Waters channel electronic sensibilities in their approach to indie rock, but also conjure moodier, artsier tendencies more akin to Interpol. Their latest album, The Moon Rang Like a Bell, is a sweeping, textured, dark, and, at times, folky emotional journey, and the prospect of seeing it performed live has us inclined to show up extra early – you should probably do the same.

_

Interpol and Hundred Waters will perform tonight, Nov. 11 at Marathon Music Works. The show is 18+, begins at at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.), and tickets are available to purchase for $25-30.
