Love it or hate it, the electronic dance music movement is in full swing in America. We may sometimes overlook it in our land of acoustic guitars and garage rock, but Skrillex, the reigning prince of dubstep, the is one of the biggest music stars out there right now. We’ve caught the master mixer the past two summers at Bonnaroo, where he transformed the farm into an alien planet of bass and bleeps and dancing, and even curated one of this year’s SuperJams. Even at ‘Roo, where getting a good night’s sleep is crucial, his 2 a.m. sets were be packed to the brim with 60 or 70k fanatic fans. We also last caught the famed DJ in Music City back in the fall of 2012, for a packed out performance at Riverfront Park. So, when we tell you that Skrillex is set to bring his lights and sounds to the 2,000 seat (weird, right?) War Memorial Auditorium this fall, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, for two back to back shows, you can believe two things… youngsters will be messed up, and tickets will last nanoseconds.
Luckily for you, fine purveyors of the party, there is a pre-sale running next Thursday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (password: BANGARANG). Don’t wait around for us to give away free tickets to this one, because we have a feeling that the guestlist for this relatively intimate affair is going to be small. Night one will also feature Tokimonsta, Tchami, and Alesia, while night two will boast Kaytranada, Branchez, and David Heartbreak. If, for some reason, you miss the pre-sale, general on sale begins Saturday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. right here. Tickets range from $40 to $45.
