Bespectacled Dinosaur Jr. frontman and all-time guitar great J Mascis has announced a followup to his fantastic 2011 solo debut, Several Shades of Why, along with a national tour to follow. The disc will be called Tied to a Star, and is slated for an Aug. 26 release via Sub Pop, and the tour is scheduled to stop here in Nashville Oct. 1 at Exit/In. It’s been over a decade since J last played Music City solo, though he did pass through in the fall of 2012 with Dinosaur Jr. (and his bandmate Lou Barlow hit The High Watt earlier this year with Sebadoh). Kevin Drew will support the upcoming date, for which tickets are now available, and you can stream Mascis’ new single, “Every Morning,” below.
