It’s another Friday night in Nashville, and I have just the thing for you to celebrate the Predators winning game two in the Stanley Cup Playoff. Carry your drunk and reveling ass over to The High Watt to check out Morning Teleportation, Sol Cat, & Schools. WE ARE EVEN GIVING AWAY A PAIR OF FREE TICKETS to one lucky winner. It’s a good chance for you to see some awesome regional bands, and a chance for you to check out Nashville’s newest venue in the Cannery/Mercy building. Enter to win by sending an email to [email protected]. One lucky winner will be selected at 5pm CST today. We’ll throw you on the guest list +1, so make sure you use your real name in the email.
Now, let’s get to business talking about these bands. Morning Teleportation are from Bowling Green, and they are best known for their melodically, twisting, turning, spacey “finger trippin'” style of guitar backed by a solid backbeat. If you haven’t noticed them yet, the folks at Bonnaroo and Sasquatch did at those festivals. The Flaming Lips, Cage The Elephant, and Modest Mouse did too when they invited them on tour. Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock noticed so much that he put out their debut LP Expanding Anyway on his Glacial Pace Recordings in 2011. You can see the video for the title track off that record below.

DID YOU ENTER TO WIN FREE TICKETS YET?!?!
Sol Cat is a Nashville based indie rock band that has been all over the place lately. We first started talking about them back in October, and it seems that they are really starting to pick up steam around these parts. You can check out a sweet video of them from this year’s SXSW below, And you can check out their Ariel Pink-esque new single “Sea of Light” below that.
