LEARN
The Wood Brothers have been collaborating on albums for 8 years, initially as a duo (brothers Oliver and Chris Wood), and more recently as a trio (with multi-instrumentalist, Jano Rix). Their latest album, The Muse, was their first full-length album recorded at Southern Ground Studios here in Nashville. Their blend of blues and folk combines gloriously with Oliver’s unique-yet-enchanting voice, the superb harmonies of Oliver and Jano, Oliver’s funky basslines, and Jano’s many contributions, whether they be on the drum kit, shuitar, or melodica. They have a groove often compared to New Orleans jazz and a songwriting finesse that brings to mind such greats as Jackson Browne and JJ Grey.
The Wood Brothers is a band that we cannot say enough good things about. We are still reeling from their sold out 3rd & Lindsley shows two months ago as well as their SXSW performance we had to watch from the street outside the venue because it was filled to capacity. In summary, these guys are blowing up, so you should definitely check them out if you haven’t already.
