Did you go sledding this week? We wanted to go sledding, wanted to feel like a kid again, so carefree and full of excitement. Alas, we are working stiffs that have bills to pay and all those other responsibilities. However, another weekend approaches, and that means it is time to see all the live music that we can possibly fit in our earholes. You can check out a rundown of some of our top picks for the weekend in our latest edition of TWiN.

D. STRIKER w/ RI¢HIE, KELSEY WALDON
@ The Basement | 9pm | $5 | 21+
Continuing his long standing tradition, D. Striker brings his antic riddled spoof country to The Basement for yet another Friday the 13th. T. RUST w/ BECCA MANCARI, DOGTOOTH
@ The End | 9pm | $5 | 18+
T. Rust a.k.a. Taylor Rust is all the things you want in an indie rock act—he’s a little bit post-punk, a little surf-rock, with some ethereal disposition, distorted riffs, and quirky lyrics. Just as the one-man production (and guitarist) did for his Dimes EP, he’ll bring on other musicians to back his live show. T. Rust will headline the night at The End with solo Americana act Becca Mancari and acoustic string roots band Dogtooth. [SS]
SWEARIN’ w/ BULLY, FANCYTRAMP
@ The Stone Fox | 9pm | $8 | 18+
Remember when Weezer used to be good? If you’re old enough, reminisce the first three albums and add more aggressive guitar riffs, a female polished punk vocal and up-tempo drumming. Now you’re getting close to sounds of the self-titled debut from Swearin’. Birthed in 2011, they are a young band to watch and we’re convinced they will continue to kick ass. Local bands Bully and Fancytramp add alt rock and psych rock sounds respectivly to one steal of a bill at $8. BE THERE! [JR]
ANNA HAAS w/ THE ELECTRIC HEARTS, FORTE FEMME, GINA VENIER & THE GENTLEMEN
@ The High Watt | 9pm | $10 | 18+
We’ve been talking about this one all week long. Click back for full previews and interviews with Anna Haas, The Electric Hearts, Forte Femme, & Gina Venier. [MH]

Well luckily for you, Nashville based Fly Golden Eagle will be performing with a cohort of similar artists at Mercy Lounge for only $8. Fly Golden Eagle takes elements of soul, classic rock, blues, and modern indie rock and tosses them together into a delicious mixture quite unlike anything else you’ve ever heard. [JS]

KEVIN GORDON BAND w/ WEBB WILDER (SOLO ACOUSTIC)
@ The High Watt | 9pm | $10 | 18+
The now local, but North Louisiana native, Kevin Gordon is a singer song-writer with a masters degree in poetry, stacks of critically acclaimed albums and movie soundtrack credits. He has songs earning the honor of being recorded by Keith Richards of the Stones. You’ve probably never heard of him. Only in Nashville can we peel back a layer or two and see the people writing behind the scenes of our favorite music and movies. Don’t miss this chance to do just that and get the evening started with fellow local Webb Wilder rocking solo on his acoustic. [JR]
ALL WE SEABEES w/ JASMIN KASET, BLANK
@ The End | 9pm | $5 | 18+
Nashville transplants All We Seabees have popped in and out of the scene here over the past decade now. After calling it quits back in 2009, this reunion show may just be the best gift that you will get this holiday season. [MH]
VOODOO PROPHET w/ LOOK WHAT I DID, THE FINALE, EVERYBODY RUN, WILD MINDS
@ Exit/In | 5pm | $10 | 18+
Alright, alright, alright. We get it. For some of our readers, the whole Americana-blues thing Nashville seems to love so much just isn’t quite enough. Some of you guys out there just want something a bit more… brutal. Luckily for you, the Owl Farm won’t be the only place one can catch some metal this Saturday. Playing at Exit/In are local metalheads Voodoo Prophet, known by local metal fans as one of the most promising groups to come out of Nashville in recent years. [JS]
SUNDAY
AN EAST NASHVILLE CHRISTMAS FEAT. TIM O’BRIEN, THE DAVID MAYFIELD PARADE, NORA JANE STRUTHERS, THE DANBERRYS, AND MANY MORE
@ 3rd & Linsdley | 8pm (doors at 6pm) | $15 | All Ages
Last year, a heaping handful of East Nashville artists came together to record An East Nashville Christmas. The album is a collection of new and classic Christmas tunes, each being revisited by a local artist. In the spirit of Christmas giving, all of the proceeds of the album went to the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, a local charity operating since the 1980s. After the success of the album and show last year, a repeat performance will be given this year at 3rd & Lindsley. Featuring everyone from The Danberrys to The Nashville Horns, this is sure to be one heck of show that will most definitely get viewers in the Christmas spirit. [JS]
JASON ISBELL w/ STURGILL SIMPSON
@ The Mercy Lounge | 8pm | SOLD OUT | 18+
We told you a little about one of our favorite transplant musicians here when he released his latest solo project Southeastern this past summer. He sold out Ryman Auditorium in August, and now he’s done it again at Mercy Lounge. You might have missed the boat, but don’t worry, we’ll be there and can fill you in on what you missed. Stay tuned and next time don’t wait to get tickets, because this guy is gaining steam at an alarming rate! [JR]
CHIODOS w/ OUR LAST NIGHT, SET IT OFF, FAREWELL FIGHTER
@ Rocketown | 6pm | $15 | All Ages

That won’t arrive until next year, but you can bet that the post-rockers will still be in full form this weekend.
