Last week was a big one for news. News of an awesome benefit show for a great cause. News of a big artist cancelation (again). News of a pretty epic vinyl release from one of our favorite Nashville labels. Between keeping you up to date on the latest, we also had time to check out some great shows, launched a few ticket giveaways (some of which end in just a couple of hours, see details below!), and even snuck up to Forecastle Fest, after bringing you a weekend guide.

In case you missed anything we covered last week on the site, here’s a recap:

  • NEWS: East Nashville Underground announced the lineup for its summer season, along with some news about the event’s future.
  • NEWS: Animal Collective have (once again) postponed their planned Nashville performance due to illness.
  • NEWS: Red Bull is giving away free tickets for an upcoming concert featuring The Airborne Toxic Event and several local artists.
  • NEWS: SXSW is now taking artist submissions for its 2014 conference.
  • NEWS: Tomato Art Fest announced the music lineup for its 10th annual event.
  • NEWS: Third Man Records will release Jay-Z‘s Magna Carta… Holy Grail on vinyl, and it will include of “playable letter.”
  • NEWS: A ton of local businesses, media outlets, and bands have teamed up to a host a benefit concert for Luella and the Sun, following a devastating fire at their home recording studio.

  • FEATURE: Music on Television: We brought you a recap of the best live music on TV, along local with tour dates for many of the bands.

  • CONTEST: We’re giving away tickets for Souls of Mischief, performing their classic 93 ’til Infinity in full, 7.15 at Exit/In. Enter by NOON today.
