Icelandic born, Berlin based eclectic pop and electronic artist Daði Freyr only released his debut album, & Co., a few short years ago, in 2019, but in the time since has become a renowned and acclaimed new artist, and an electropop fixture across the globe. Harboring a lifelong passion for music, Freyr (born Daði Freyr Pétursson) spent his youth learning multiple instruments, performing in bands, and studying music and production, self-releasing some earlier work and fronting his own project Daði & Gagnamagnið. Ahead of his first album, an avant-garde, disco inspired work of electronic nostalgia, Daði took part in Iceland’s Söngvakeppnin contest, and following its release, he was selected to represent Iceland in the acclaimed Eurovision Song Contest in 2020, delayed to the following year due to the pandemic, in which he ultimately finished fourth and found a new international audience.
Since then, Fryer has released a sophomore album, last year’s critically-acclaimed I Made an Album, and has been touring the world with his hypnotic and engaging live show. Set to play Nashville for, as far as we can tell, the first time ever, Daði will headline Eastside Bowl on March 4 with local electronic favorite Ken Sable, for a night of substantive, unique, genre-bending, pop, disco, and electropop! Tickets are still available right here, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan! Preview both performers and enter to win below.
