It’s been a decade since eclectic, multifaceted singer, actress, and model Sky Ferreira released her debut album- and one and only full-length thus far- Night Time, My Time, a critically lauded, fan-favorite classic of early 2010s synth pop and indie rock. It’s been something of a tumultuous period since, with false starts, delays, and label drama surrounding her planned followup, Masochism, initially announced to arrive as early as 2015, but after teases, two singles- 2019’s “Downhill Lullaby” and last year’s comeback “Don’t Forget”- time spent on increasingly high-profile acting roles, and plenty of rumors of its imminent arrival, it seems like Ferreira’s long-awaited return to music is finally coming next year. Hailing from Los Angeles, Sky took an interest in music at a young age (her grandmother was Michael Jackson’s hairstylist, and Jackson himself encouraged the family to foster her musical talent), and began uploading songs to MySpace as a teen, attracting the attention of famed pop producers Bloodshy & Avant, and soon inking a major record deal. A couple of EPs, As If! and Ghost would follow, introducing Ferreira to the world as a teen electropop artist, but by Night Time, which faced delays and struggles in creative control as Sky matured her sound, she had embraced a more hip, indie rock informed, original style of synth pop, earning more esteemed praise amidst the indie boom of the era, and landing her on tour with the likes of Vampire Weekend and Miley Cyrus.

Though she’s never left music behind, continuing to perform and to work on her long-awaited sophomore effort, Sky has perhaps became just as recognizable for her acting career over the last decade, appearing in projects like Eli Roth horror film The Green Inferno, Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, and the 2017 revival of iconic David Lynch series Twin Peaks. Now in the midst of an exciting, palpably liberating musical comeback (it genuinely feels like Masochism‘s release is imminent this time), the millennial indie icon is back on the road to celebrate, set to play Nashville for the first time in over a decade (and for the first time ever as a headliner, from what we can tell) Dec. 2 at Eastside Bowl! Tickets are still available right here while they last, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan! Listen to new single “Don’t Forget” and enter to win below.
