It’s been just over a decade since New York pop punk outfit State Champs erupted onto the scene with their fantastic debut album, The Finer Things, instantly becoming one of the most in-demand acts of the ’00s pop punk and emo revival (which has, even more recently hit something of a fever pitch). In the years since, the band, who channel the sound of early ’00s acts like The Starting Line, Fall Out Boy, and New Found Glory while updating the genre for a new generation, have shared the stage with most every prominent act in the scene, have appeared at events like Warped Tour and Riot Fest, and have continued to assert themselves as one of modern pop punk’s most dependable acts, honing their sound across four more full-lengths, most recently this year’s eponymous State Champs, which perfectly captures the catchy, bold, dynamic, focused, and earnest style that has become their signature over the last 15 years as a band.
Frequently making their way to Music City over the years, we’ve seen State Champs bring their high-energy, emotionally resonant live show to small clubs like The End and the old Rocketown, and graduate to the likes of Brooklyn Bowl and Eastside Bowl, while also supporting larger scene legends like Simple Plan and appear at one of the final Warped Tour stops to hit Nashville. In support of their latest, the group will return to Cannery Hall’s Mainstage (which they previously headlined as Cannery Ballroom) on Nov. 29, boasting a supporting lineup that makes this an essential show for pop punk fans: fellow 2010s scene mainstays Knuckle Puck, breakout pop punk trio Meet Me @ the Altar, and buzzy Brooklyn bubblegrunge duo Daisy Grenade. Tickets are still available right here while they last, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan! Preview the whole lineup and enter below.
