Los Angeles hard rock outfit Badflower sprung onto the scene just over a decade ago (though several members had been playing together for a number of years already, first meeting as teens), attracting label interest and buzz beyond their native SoCal almost instantly thanks to their hard-hitting, energetic live show, and inking a major record deal ahead of their breakout 2016 debut EP, Temper. Amassing millions of streams, playlist and radio love, touring the world, and appearing at fests, the rockers’ fame would catapult over the following few years, before further breaking into the mainstream with 2019 full-length debut, OK, I’m Sick, and gold-certified single “Ghost,” a dark and earnest tune about depression and self-harm. Mixing sobering, confessional, and occasionally intense lyrics, which also include themes like addiction and mental illness, with no-frills heavy yet accessible alt and hard rock, as well as post-grunge, Badflower’s sound has earned them a reputation as one of rock’s best contemporary acts, and with 2021 sophomore LP This Is How the World Ends, they further perfected that musical ethos.
Badflower have played Nashville pretty regularly over the years, headlining spots like Brooklyn Bowl and The Basement East, and supporting tours for big acts like Incubus. Following a couple of recent singles- “Teacher Has a Gun” and “Detroit”- with a new album on the way, the band are currently in the midst of another tour, which brings them back to town for their biggest Music City headliner yet, Oct. 22 at The Ryman Auditorium with a stacked supporting lineup of alt rockers Slothrust and electronic duo MISSIO! You can still get tickets right here, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan; preview the lineup and enter below.
