For more than a decade now, LA by way of Seattle electronic artist and multi-instrumentalist Robert DeLong has been dazzling us with his dance-primed, lush, and off-kilter musical stylings, informed by his background playing in indie and pop punk bands, a sensibility which sets him apart (and keeps him more instrumentally-rooted) than some of his more DJ-skewing electronic contemporaries. DeLong’s latest album, PLAYLIST of DOOM, dropped just a couple weeks ago, and he’s bringing his immersive, high-energy live show back to Music City Oct. 1 at The Basement East to celebrate!
Joining DeLong as co-headliners are Australian alt and indie rock outfit Atlas Genius, whose debut full-length When It Was Now dropped back in 2013, and was an absolute staple of the early 2010s, thanks in no small part to breakout, earworm single “Trojans.” Though they crafted a swift followup, Inanimate Objects, in 2015, nearly a decade passed before the band’s latest, End of the Tunnel, which just arrived earlier this month. A vibey, lush, more synth-laced work, the rockers pick up right where they left off, and feel like a natural pairing with DeLong, tapping into his earlier sensibilities without straying into full-on electronic territory.
Tickets for the groups’ Nashville stop- which features support from Australian retro rockers Normal Behaviour– are available right here while they last, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan! And not only that, but our winner will also receive a Robert DeLong merch bundle, which includes a signed vinyl! Preview all of the artists and enter to win below.
