Rising indie rock and pop star Aidan Bissett has had an impressive few years, from finding online buzz while self-releasing DIY songs and covers in 2020 during the Covid lockdown, to landing a major label record deal and releasing his first EP, More Than Friends, the following year, breaking through to even more mainstream attention with 2022 followup EP I’m Alight If You’re Ok, and crafting his biggest and best-received project to date with last year’s Supernova, all the while sharing the stage with artists like Lauv, and becoming an impressive live draw in his own right.
Born in Florida, raised in Portland and then Florida again (before settling in LA as his career began to take off), Bissett became drawn to music in grade school, and fell into the indie scene as a teen thanks to groups like Tame Impala and Nashville’s own COIN. After the typical trajectory of playing in bands, and learning to write and self-record, Aidan- now 22- began to forge his laid back, pop-tinged, guitar-centric indie rock sound, which quickly earned him a lot of attention online. A few short years and a string of EPs and singles later, and he’s one of the most promising rising talents in indie pop.
Out in support of Supernova, which got an extended re-release earlier this year, on a run dubbed the Supernova: How’s It Gonna End? Tour, you can see what the buzz is about in person when Aidan makes his headlining Nashville debut (after opening for Valley last year at Brooklyn Bowl) on May 10 at Exit/In, with support from well-matched LA pop singer Casey Baer. Tickets are still available right here, but we’re thrilled to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan! Preview the performers and enter below.
