Red Hot Chili Peppers, Post Malone, Fred Again…, Pretty Lights, & More to Play Bonnaroo 2024

It’s been a revitalizing past few summers at Bonnaroo– the region’s preeminent music festival- which returned in 2022 after a couple years of pandemic and weather related postponements and cancellations, and saw attendance rise once more to pre-pandemic levels last summer with a sold out weekend, a year that both felt like a return to form, but also an evolution in Bonnaroo’s format, logistics, and ethos. Set to take place in its usual timeframe of June 13-16 this summer in nearby Manchester, Tenn., for its 21st installment and 23rd year, the festival has just unveiled its 2024 lineup, which, per usual, sees a stellar mix of new and returning artists, and classic and contemporary acts spanning a wide variety of genres and slotted across two main stages, tents, an electronic stage, and various intimate campground stages.

Heading up the fest this year are Post Malone, Red Hot Chili Peppers (both veterans of multiple past Roos), and comparative newcomer Fred again…, with Pretty Lights set to make a festival first by performing a Thursday night set on ‘Roo’s main What Stage (in Bonnaoros past, Thursdays have been reserved for performances in the tents, with the main stages opening on Friday). As with last year, each day only has one main headliner billed (vs. two in the past, though it’s really just poster semantics), save for Thursday, which also highlights Fisher, but the undercard as just as vibrant as always, with Maggie Rogers, Cage the Elephant, Megan Thee Stallion, Khruangbin, Melanie Martinez, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Gwar, Dominic Fike, Cigarettes After Sex, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jon Batiste, Goth Babe, Medium Build, Interpol, Reneé Rapp, Taking Back Sunday, T-Pain, The Mars Volta, Faye Webster, IDLES, Brittany Howard, Gregory Alan Isakov, Thundercat, Ashnikko, Chappell Roan, The Maine, Jake Wesley Rogers, and Michigander, plus a Dashboard Confessional led Emo SuperJam among the rest of the performers! As with last year, Bonnaroo tickets and camping options are now sold separately rather than bundled, giving more customization in access and accommodations. Tickets, which go back on sale this Thursday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. CST right here, are the usual GA, GA+, VIP, and Platinum offerings, and start at a base price of $420 for the weekend (if that seems steep, it’s due to both a slight increase in base price, and a new change where all fees are included in the upfront price). While single-day tickets were available at the onset last year (which hasn’t always been the case for Bonnaroo, they’re not currently listed on this year’s ticket page, though could certainly become available later, as was previously the norm).

The campground area, renamed Outeroo last summer (to compliment the venue area’s Centeroo), continues to offer a wide rage in options and flexibility, with traditional car camping, tent only camping, day parking, souvenir tents, glamping, RV camping, an exclusive backstage camping area, and the usual Groop, accessibility, family, solo, sober, and community camping options all available, back with galactic themed layout. Again, your camping or parking choice is completely unbundled from your admission ticket now, so you could choose an incredibly deluxe camping option with a standard ticket or vice versa (or match the two to your liking). Just remember, unless you’re taking a ride share or shuttle or some alternate form of travel, you’ll need some way to camp or park, which is not included with the ticket, and some levels can and will sell out.
