Earlier this year, famed pop punk and emo pop rockers Fall Out Boy returned with their first album in five years, So Much (for) Stardust, a shift back to the guitar-driven sound of their earlier work, and the band’s best reviewed album in a decade. Formed in the early ’00s in the Chicago suburbs, FOB became staples of the burgeoning pop punk and emo explosion of that decade with their scene classic 2003 breakout Take This to Your Grave, before exploding as bona fide, mainstream rockstars with 2005 followup From Under the Cork Tree and subsequent works, landing as one of the most popular and successful bands of their era, and an instrumental figure in ushering in a renewed interest in pop punk. Though they went on hiatus in 2009, at the height of their popularity, the band returned just four years later, in 2013, and have gone on to release four albums since, experimenting with more anthemic, arena-primed and electronic-infused stylings more recently, until reconnecting with their rock-oriented roots with Stardust.
After a successful first leg of arena shows in support, a run dubbed So Much for (Tour) Dust, and ahead of an international trek, Fall Out Boy have announced another leg of U.S. dates for 2024, which they’re calling So Much for (2our) Dust, a lengthy run of spring shows which brings them back to Nashville for the first time since 2018, for a March 31, 2024 performance at Bridgestone Arena. In typical FOB, they’ve recruited some fantastic openers for this tour, and most exciting of all is the fact that fellow emo legends Jimmy Eat World will support all dates! Nashville’s show will additionally feature Hot Mulligan and CARR, and tickets are set to go on sale Friday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. CDT right here, with a variety of pre-sales beginning Sept. 13.
