SATURDAY | June 24
The second day of Nashville’s Re:SET series is headed up by alt-r&b genre bender Steve Lacy, who’s had a huge past year thanks to viral breakout, TikTok famous, number one charting, Grammy nominated single “Bad Habit.” Hailing from Compton, CA, Lacy first rose to prominence as part of The Internet, with members of Odd Future, as well as collabs with other Odd Future members Tyler, the Creator and Frank Ocean, and for writing with the likes Kendrick Lamar and Solange Knowles. Lacy’s debut album, Apollo XXI, arrived to critical acclaim and even a Grammy nomination in 2019, but it was last year’s Gemini Rights which really helped propel the young artist to new mainstream heights, leading to an appearance on SNL, millions of streams, numerous award nominations, and prominent shows like Re:SET. For his Saturday appearance, Lacy has curated a great and complimentary supporting lineup of English electronic r&b singer James Blake, California chillwave pioneer turned psych pop indie fave Toro y Moi, both No Country faves for more than a decade, and Los Angeles based r&b singer Fousheé, who, like Lacy, really started to gain buzz last year.
