While we’ve seen many new festivals emerge (and several vanish) in recent years, there’s hasn’t been a whole lot of innovation in the space, which, these days, almost always consists of dozens of artists performing in one spot with numerous stages over several days. For awhile, touring festivals like Warped Tour, the original Lollapalooza, Ozzfest, and more were all the rage, traversing the country for many weeks with the same lineup, and while some events, like Rolling Loud, the modern incarnation of Lollapalooza, Primavera Sound, and more have experimented with hosting events in more than one city, we’ve never seen anything quite like the Re:SET Concert Series from mega-promoter AEG.
More akin to, but not exactly like, those traveling festivals of the ’90s and ’00s, Re:SET is currently in the midst of traveling to 12 cites across three days throughout each weekend in June, with shows (alternating in cities within each region) headlined and curated by dance-punk icons LCD Soundsystem, alt-r&b genre-bender Steve Lacy, and indie supergroup boygenius. An interesting and innovative way to bring the festival spirit to what would otherwise just be three strong touring lineups on their own, Re:SET will hit The Great Lawn in Centennial Park this weekend, on June 23 with LCD Soundsystem plus Jamie xx, IDLES, L’Rain, Sparkle City Disco, and; June 24 with Steve Lacy plus James Blake, Toro y Moi, and Fousheé; and June 25 with boygenius plus Clairo, Dijon, and Bartees Strange.
Tickets are available as both General Admission and VIP, individually beginning at $99.50 or for all three days beginning at $250 right here, and music for the all ages event runs from roughly 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Be sure to check the schedule, venue map, and info page (which includes a list of what is and isn’t allowed, the bag policy, and a rundown of food vendors), all on the festival’s site, and download the official Re:SET app for the latest updates. Then, check out our full lineup guide below, complete with set times, artist preview, social links, and more (be sure to click through for each day)!
FRIDAY | June 23
Day one of Nashville’s Re:SET festival is headed up by legendary New York dance punks LCD Soundsystem, who formed in 2002 and released three now-classic albums- their eponymous 2005 debut, 2007’s Sound of Silver, and 2010’s This Is Happening– across their first decade, before somewhat abruptly splitting in 2011. They’d reform just four years later, however, headlining fests, touring the nation, and releasing a fourth LP, American Dream, in 2017. After a brief Covid hiatus, the group sprung back to life again in late 2021 for a New York residency, and dropped a new single last year for the Noah Baumbach film White Noise. Though no new album plans have yet been firmly detailed, the band are definitely plotting a fifth LP in the near future, and clearly took their curation duties very seriously this weekend, putting together the biggest lineup of the bunch. Joining LCD Soundsystem are electronic musician and DJ Jamie xx, of famed English indie pop group The xx, British post-punk and hardcore outfit IDLES, Brooklyn-based experimental pop artist L’Rain, and, in unspecified time slots (presumably between the other performers), Nashville vinyl disco DJ duo Sparkle City Disco, and musician, comedian, video director, and longtime LCD Soundsystem cohort, Brooklyn’s Jayson Green.
