Though, as his musical alias would imply, Michigander does hail originally from Michigan, the resonant indie rocker, born Jason Singer, has called Nashville home for a number of years now. First emerging onto the scene in 2014, and making a formal debut with 2016 track “Nineties,” the singer-songwriter has garnered critical acclaim and amassed an organic, passionate fanbase, perfecting his sound which fuses a polished, emo-adjacent, electro-infused, lush style of indie rock and confessional, relatable, lyrical knack, all with an anthemic, heartland rock flair. 2021 EP Everything Will Be Ok Eventually helped Michigander break through to a larger audience, earning radio hits and online buzz, and his latest, the just-released It Will Never Be the Same, proves a worthy followup and career-best, showcasing the style he’s expertly honed over the years, and even featuring a collaboration with beloved Atlanta outfit Manchester Orchestra.
Capping off a monthlong tour, Michigander returns home for a headlining show at the recently-reopened Exit/In this Saturday, April 29, along with buzzy fellow local indie artist Abby Holliday! You can still get tickets right here while they last, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan!
