These days, emo nights are all the rage, popping up in cities across the nation (including several curators here in Nashville) to celebrate millennial nostalgia for the emo, pop punk, indie, and hardcore music that dominated the scene from the late ’90s to the late ’00s. And though they didn’t invent the concept, Morgan Freed and T.J. Petracca’s Emo Nite LA, which has expanded far beyond Los Angeles to become a ubiquitous brand in of itself as Emo Nite, is undoubtedly the biggest and most influential, popping up eight years ago just as talk of an “emo revival” had hit a fever pitch, and going on to become one of LA’s preeminent parties. Not a concert and not a DJ night, Emo Nite is a nostalgic emo party, which regularly boasts special guests, curated playlists, occasional performances, and tons of themed events, and they’ve grown synonymous with the entire concept of an “emo night,” the LA-based curators have increasingly taken their show on the road, touring around the nation throwing events, and even hosting a festival last year in Vegas.
Returning to Nashville for the first time in a few years, Emo Nite is set to take place at Eastside Bowl on Oct. 7, and while we don’t have a rundown on any specific guests, given all of the emo and pop punk talent in the local scene, we’d imagine to see some familiar faces. And regardless, of all of the many emo nite/nights, this one is heralded as one of the first and best, and you can get tickets while they last right right here. We’re also excited to announce that we’re giving away a pair of tickets to a one lucky winner, so scroll for a preview of the lineup, and enter below!
