We’ve barely had time to scratch the surface on rapper Kendrick Lamar‘s new album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, which just dropped today and already feels like another instant classic from one of hip hop’s most important figures, and he’s already graced us with some more huge news: a tour!
Set to kick off in July and run Lamar around the world through the end of the year, Kedrick’s run, which features support from Baby Keem and Tanna Leone, will return him to Nashville July 31 to headline Bridgestone Arena! It’ll have been almost exactly five years since Lamar last headlined Bridgestone by the time this show rolls around, which is also how long it’s been since he last dropped an album, 2017’s incredible, Pulitzer Prize-winning DAMN. Lamar also played the arena twice a decade ago, in support of Drake then Kanye (we still dream about that unreal Yeezus Tour show).
Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is divided into two parts and, unsurprisingly, is full of impressive guests. It was announced to be his final album with long-time label home Top Dawg Entertainment. Ahead of its release, Kendrick dropped the latest in his “The Heart” single series, “The Heart Part 5,” along with an unsettling video where he performs as a variety of notorious figures like OJ Simpson, Kanye West, Kobe Bryant, and Will Smith with the aid of deepfakes.
Watch the video below, stream Kendrick’s latest album on your platform of choice, and get tickets to The Big Steppers tour beginning Friday, May 20 at 12 p.m. CDT right here (and look out for pre-sales from Live Nation and CashApp ahead)!
