Last year, resident local country starlet Kacey Musgraves released her debut Christmas album, A Very Kacey Christmas, and celebrated the timeless holiday effort with a small run of shows, including a couple of local appearances. Chock full of quirky and spirited original holiday tunes, the record features guests like Willie Nelson and Leon Bridges, and racked up praise for its nostalgic, throwback vibe to cheerful and positive Christmas music of eras past, cementing its place as a sure-to-be modern classic.
As Christmas comes but once a year, it’s no surprise that Kacey, currently hard at work on her latest non-holiday themed full-length, is taking the time to revisit A Very Kacey Christmas once more, recently re-stocking her webstore with Christmas themed merch, and announcing that once again, like last year’s stop at Ernest Tubb, she’ll host a free holiday in-store performance and record signing, this time at Grimey’s on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.!
Typical of more high-profile in-stores, you’ll need a wristband to guarantee admission, and the only way to a get one right now is to swing by Grimey’s beginning today at 11 a.m., and snag a copy of any of Kacey’s albums. If spots remain, the shop may begin taking phone orders on Friday (generally, if space still remains beyond that, people without a wristband are admitted on a first come first serve basis, but for someone as popular as Musgraves, we wouldn’t count on it).
