Bon Iver, the musical juggernaut of Justin Vernon, released their third LP, 22, A Million, last year to significant acclaim, despite the fact that the largely experimental record veered away from the reflective, folk leaning two previous album. For Emma, Forever Ago brought the national spotlight on Bon Iver in 2008 with the radio smashes like “Skinny Love” and “Flume,” and 2011’s self-titled follow up earned them their first Grammy.
The slightly reclusive Vernon doesn’t tour regularly, and the band hasn’t played Nashville since their incredible 2011 debut at the Ryman Auditorium, so chances to see Bon Iver live are not-to-be-missed opportunities. Head below to check out the “Skinny Love” encore (that someone amazingly spliced together with crowd sourced videos) from the last time Bon Iver was in town, and mark your calendar for their return to The Ryman on Oct. 29 and Oct. 31. Tickets start at $50, and go on sale here Friday at 10am (with fan club presales starting tomorrow). We suggest you set a reminder in your calendar, because it’s unlikely, particularly for the Halloween show, that tickets will last very long.
