North Carolina based electro/indie pop duo turned international touring sensations Sylvan Esso dropped a bomb on April 28 with their highly acclaimed sophomore LP, What Now, and have been wowing crowds on the festival circuit for most of the summer. We also told you that the band are gearing up for a North American headlining run, which includes a Sept. 22 return to Nashville to play The Ryman Auditorium. Well, if you thought you couldn’t get enough Sylvan Esso this year, you are in luck- the band announced that they are gearing up to release a new EP, Echo Mountain Sessions, which features reimagined versions of songs from the new record. Recorded in a single day in the North Carolina mountains at Echo Mountain Studios, the tracks feature full band performances, which enlisted friends from Mountain Man, Wye Oak, The Mountain Goats, and Megafaun, to bring the heavily produced electronic bangers to life through a more organic lens.
Videos were shot to accompany each of the reimagined tunes, and you can watch them all after the jump. In the meantime, grab tickets for the group’s upcoming date at The Ryman, check out the tracklisting of the EP, and dig into the videos below.
