Bona fide local badass turned pop starlet Kesha has, over the last year, been piecing her stalled career back together, following a drawn-out, public legal battle and sexual assault accusations against producer and label head Dr. Luke.
After doubling down on her longstanding rock and punk influences with new backing band The Creepies for an intimate club tour last fall, the native Nashvillian (and daughter of songwriter Pebe Sebert) seems finally to be back to the healthy and defiant headspace she in was closer to 2012’s sophomore effort Warrior.
Kesha, along with Margo Price, Jellyroll, and a few other local artists, will star in the latest episode of NOISEY on Vice’s new cable network VICELAND. Ahead of the Nashville-centric episode, which airs tonight, Jan. 17 at 9 p.m. CST, Noisey has revealed an interview clip featuring Kesha, filmed at Springwater Supper Club and The Ryman.
In the five-minute spot, the singer discusses her musical roots, how the city shaped her, her emotional connection to The Ryman, recent career struggles, and more. Watch below, and turn into NOISEY tonight for a full episode on Nashville!
