It seems like we keep hearing more and more about Ron Gallo these days in Nashville. The Philly transplant is gearing up for the release of his long awaited record, Heavy Meta, on Feb. 3, and we already shared the incredible first track, “Young Lady You’re Scaring Me,” to show you just how bad ass this record is lining up to be. We also premiered his tone true version of “White Christmas” that you can see him perform on Saturday Dec. 17 at our Christmas Caroling Party at The 5 Spot.
However, in what may be the most guerilla punk move yet, Gallo has just released his latest video for “Please Yourself” that was filmed in one take, live, in the intersection at 4th & Broadway in downtown Nashville. Gallo starts the video off by poetically speaking the lyrics to “All The Punks Have Been Domesticated” while walking through a downtown alley. The camera then follows him to, arguably, the busiest intersection in town, where he hops in the back of an arriving pickup truck and proceeds to blow minds of pedestrians and drivers alike.
Head below for the incredible video, and mark you calendar to see Ron at The 5 Spot on Saturday, at The High Watt on Feb. 4, or at Mercy Lounge in support of Hurray For The Riff Raff on May 3.
