Breakout local indie-electro duo Cherub are gearing up to release their highly-anticipated followup to buzzy 2014 LP Year of the Caprese, which helped catapult them to national fame, and has kept them busy with tours, festival appearances, collaborations, and more ever since. Dubbed Bleed Gold, Piss Excellence, Cherub’s latest record will arrive on Oct. 14, and so far the band have shared a preview in the form of hypnotic title track “Bleed Gold, Piss Excellence,” funky electropop banger “Sensation,” and, most recently, catchy end of summer jam “Signs” featuring famed rapper T.I. (hear it below), all of which seem to indicate that we’re in for Cherub’s biggest, poppiest, most focused, and most eclectic effort to date.
Expanding a run of fall dates in support, the group have just announced a Nashville New Year’s Eve performance, Dec. 31 at Marathon Music Works with Two Fresh and Gibbz, where we’ve said farewell to many great years with the help of some of our favorite local bands. A Cherub show is a huge party already, so a Cherub show on a holiday seems like the most epic way imaginable to end the year. This one’s likely to sell out, so be sure to secure your spot, and grab tickets beginning Friday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. CDT right here.
