You know our Tuesday night show series at Acme Feed & Seed, now a roughly bi-weekly affair in conjunction with our friends at Acme Radio, as a long-running outlet where we frequently showcase our favorite up and coming local acts as well as burgeoning national artists. While generally hosted on the venue’s first floor, we have, on a few special occasions, moved the music upstairs, to bring you an unparalleled rooftop party of fourth floor, outdoor tunes. Next week, on Tuesday, Aug. 30, we’re thrilled to invite local indie pop duo MYZICA to the roof, where they’ll celebrate the impending release of their highly-anticipated debut full-length, Love & Desire. One of Nashville’s most exciting and buzzworthy new acts, MYZICA are a name you’re going to be hearing a lot more of in the near future, and you seriously don’t want to miss this FREE, unique chance to see them in person. Per usual, the show is 21+, and doors are at 7 p.m., with an opening DJ set. You’re encouraged to RSVP here, but that doesn’t guarantee admission, and capacity is limited. Read on for more about MYZICA and preview their sound below!
The brainchild of producer Micah Tawlks and singer Isaaca Byrd, indie pop duo MYZICA commanded our attention with hypnotic debut single “Ready Or Not” in 2014, before crafting one of the best local releases of last year, their wonderfully synth-heavy, ’80s-inspired, eponymous debut EP. With standout singles like “Wait Just a Minute” and “We Started a Fire,” MYZICA have garnered national press and won over the blogosphere, helping reinforce the strength and allure of Nashville’s diverse, fast-growing pop scene. With a growing list of high-profile placements, an increasing national presence, and a debut LP, Love & Desire, set for a Sept. 9 release, MYZICA feel like not only one of the most exciting bands to emerge from Nashville in recent memory, but one of the most exciting pop groups period, destined to resonate with a wider audience thanks to their unparalleled pop hooks and wistful nostalgic appeal. If MYZICA’s latest singles “Love & Desire” and “We Belong Together” are any indication, we have no doubt that this group are on a path to widespread fame, following in the footsteps of nostalgic, poppy, breakout stars like CHVRCHES and Carly Rae Jepsen; catch ’em now for free while you still can!
MYZICA will perform Tuesday, Aug. 30 at Acme Feed & Seed. The show is 21+, doors open at 7 p.m., and, per usual, it’s totally FREE! Downtown PARKING can sometimes be an issue. However, if you’re willing to walk a few blocks, street parking is typically easy to find on the numbered avenues south of Broadway or along Korean Veterans Blvd, and metered spaces are typically free after 6 p.m.
