If new single “Tidal Wave” is any indication, Taking Back Sunday‘s upcoming seventh album of the same name (due out Sept. 16 via Hopeless Records) will be the sound of a band finally lowering their inhibitions and allowing their post-emo influences to guide them, culminating in what, we hope, could be their best release since the band’s classic and definitive lineup reconvened in 2010. It definitely speaks to the group’s own excitement that they’ve decided to play a tour of incredibly small rooms in support, connecting with fans in intimate spots across the nation all fall, with a return to Nashville slated for Oct. 11 at Exit/In. In recent years, TBS have packed spots like Marathon Music Works and Cannery Ballroom, so their upcoming outing, which will feature support from You Blew It! and Mammoth Indigo, will certainly mark their tiniest Music City show in over a decade. Unsurprisingly, tickets are expected to sell out fast, so grab yours here right now, or sorely regret missing out.
