KANSAS BIBLE COMPANY
Over the past few years, Kansas Bible Company has evolved from a 12 person ensemble fresh out of college in Indiana to a polished and perfected seven-piece rock and roll band based out of East Nashville. In 2010, they released their debut album Ad Astra Per Aspera shortly before making the move to Music City. They moved into an abandoned crack house and renovated it into their home base, which they nicknamed “Hotel Chicamauga.” A year later, they would name their second full-length project after their unique abode. Their unique mixture of hypnotic prog jams and psychedelic surf rock gets a new life onstage, thanks to the band’s incredible ability to infuse their passion and energy into every note they play.
Now, the band is heading to the Basement East to celebrate the release of their third studio album Paper Moon. We recently shared their single “Adios Amigo” off their latest project, which goes to show just how far their sound has come since their beginnings in 2008. Make sure you’re there to be one of the first to hear all of their stellar new music in a live setting.
ALANNA ROYALE
We can’t say enough about the funky and soulful sound of Alanna Royale. Fronted by the unstoppable Alanna Quinn Broadus, they’ve managed to become a household name in a town full of unique and talented artists. Their debut full length album, Achilles, helped them gain a solid fanbase across the country, and has kept the band busy with a loaded tour schedule. Although they’ve been busy recording tracks for their upcoming sophomore LP, fans in attendance will be lucky enough to enjoy a set that’s guaranteed to get you dancing.
THE GILLS
Alt rockers The Gills have been supplying solid rock anthems for a few years now. Since relocating from Florida to Nashville in 2009, the group has focused on creating rhythmic, energetic and inspired music that is heavy on electric guitar and percussion. They recently earned attention for a parody trailer they released after they dropped their new single “Lemonade” on the same day as Beyonce’s surprise album of the same name. Thanks to the help of a recent online fundraiser, the band plans to release their self-titled LP later this year. Get to the Basement East early, and get a teaser of what’s to come during their rowdy live set.
Kansas Bible Company, Alanna Royale and The Gills will perform tonight, June 3 at The Basement East. The show is 21+, begins at 8:00 p.m. (doors at 7:30 p.m.), and tickets are available to purchase for $10.
