Last night, Canadian indie pop starlet Carly Rae Jepsen stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers to perform “Run Away with Me” and “Your Type,” both from her critically acclaimed (and No Country approved) 2015 effort E•MO•TION. As we recently announced, Jepsen is set to headline Nashville for the first time ever this spring, March 14 at surprisingly small space the Cannery Ballroom. Even more of a shock? If you only know Carly from her breakout pop hit “Call Me Maybe,” we definitely suggest giving the new LP, which adopts a more mature, electropop, nostalgic sound in the vein of CHVRCHES, a spin; it’s weird to say it about a singer with a platinum hit, but Carly Rae Jepsen might be one of the most underrated singers in pop right now.
