Rayland Baxter had quite the year after the success of his stellar August 2015 release, Imaginary Man, which captured the attention of everyone from NPR to Entertainment Weekly to The New York Times. Amidst heavy touring in support, Baxter did take some time to swing by War Memorial Auditorium to perform some stripped down versions of “Mr. Rodriguez,” “Yellow Eyes,” and “Freakin’ Me Out” in the latest Attic Session, and you can also hear Rayland discussing a bit about how the new album came to be. This will need to tide you over for just about a month until Rayland returns to Nashville’s Exit/In on Jan. 23.
